KAPAA — Registration opens June 1 for the ninth annual Mayor-a-thon set for June 24.
About 1,000 bicyclists, runners, walkers and strollers are expected to participate in the free community event at Kapaa Beach Park.
You can walk, jog, run or bike from one to eight miles. The first 500 registered and checked in participants/volunteers will receive a free event T-shirt and GEICO water bottle.
Everyone will receive a cinch bag from Kaiser Permanente.
All participants will enjoy breakfast from Mark’s Place, dancing, games, prizes, and Zumba. Dogs on leashes are welcome.
All who pre-register and check in will be eligible to win prizes including a two-night stay at the Kauai Marriott Resort.
Donations for the Healthy Food Drive that will benefit the Kauai Independent Food Bank and the Hawaii Food Bank-Kauai Branch are welcome.
