Fusako Dato (Morimoto)
Fusako Dato (Morimoto) of Kilauea passed away on May 3, 2017 at the age of 96. Born July 12, 1920, she was a retired janitor of the Country of Kauai.
She was preceded in death by parents Hidematsu and Toyo Morimoto, husband Juan and son Juan Jr., brothers Akira Morimoto, Hiroshi Morimoto and Toshiyuki Morimoto, and two younger siblings.
She is survived by brothers Nobuharu Morimoto of California, Masunori Morimoto of Oahu, Yoshiaki Morimoto of Osaka, Japan, sisters Akiko Yamamoto of Yamaguchi, Japan and Miyuki Armstrong of Detroit.
She is also survived by daughters Frances (Kay) Furuyama of San Diego and Patricia “Patsy” Oneha of Oahu, sons Victorino “Jerry” (Mary) Dato of Dubuque, Iowa, Dennis (Parmalee) Dato of Kauai, Alan Dato of Kauai and Kenneth (Renee) Dato of Las Vegas, and numerous grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be private.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Mortuary.
Edith Kirie Kojiri
Edith Kirie Kojiri of Hanapepe passed away at the age of 85 on May 16, 2017, at Kauai Care Center. Born on Dec. 22, 1931 in Eleele, she was an occupational therapy aide.
She is survived by her husband Masami Kojiri, sons Rodney Kojiri of Hanapepe and Clyde Kojiri of Hanapepe, daughter Amy (Michael) Liberato of Hanapepe, grandchildren Tiana Kojiri, Llowen Liberato, Llayla (Jan) Bartolome and Llara Liberato, great-grandchildren Lyon Bartolome and Kolten Kojiri-Perreira, sister Ann Matsuoka of Eleele and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. with a celebration of life at 4 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire and requests flowers be omitted.

Renee Marie Barretto
Renee Marie Barretto of Kapaa passed away on May 8, 2017, at the age of 60. She was born in Honolulu on Feb. 18, 1957, and was a cashier at Tony’s Mini Mart.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Barretto and son Travis Barretto.
He is survived by daughter Berta (Shyne) Bishop of Las Vegas, sons Willie (Brandy) Barretto and Dominic (Krystal) Barretto of Kapaa, 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Barretto family with arrangements.
