Janece Yatsko had an affinity for surf photography — not surfers riding waves, but the character of surf.
The series of photos is part of the Kauai Community College Digital Photography Photo exhibition which wrapped up Friday following a nearly year-long run at the Pi‘ikoi Building of the Lihue Civic Center.
For her work, Yatsko was presented the R.J. Baker Photo Award for having the greatest number of votes from the general public. The award was presented by county dignitaries and the Kauai Community Federal Credit Union for her “Convergence” piece which depicts the interaction of an incoming wave against a backwash.
“This is the time of the year when KCC photography students showcase their best work,” said Serge Marcil, KCC digital photography instructor.
“As in previous semesters and school years, the photo exhibit is once again spectacular. I’m extremely proud of their work.”
Photo works covered a wide range of subjects. It was displayed at the Pi‘ikoi Building of the Lihue Civic Center.
