LIHUE — Sandy Webster, director of Healing Horses Kauai, said the 11 projects worked on Monday needed to be done.
“It will help launch us into a new level of improving the facility,” she said.
Healing Horses was one of the beneficiaries of the Workday on Monday.
It was awarded a $5,000 grant for supplies for the project. About 50 volunteers took on tasks such a waterline installation and new hitching posts.
More people worked at Malama Kauai creating community gardens.
About 30 people worked with the Surfrider Foundation to remove about 140 pounds of debris from the beach near the Aqua Kauai Beach Resort near Hanamaulu, and more than 50 volunteers gathered at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihue to host a graduation celebration for more than 100 members of the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii Lihue Clubhouse.
Workday is a San Francisco software company holding meetings at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa.
