The Waimea High School Class of 1967 celebrated 50 years since graduation by attending the Menehune Class of 2017 festivities Friday on campus. Congratulations to all the graduates, including the two from the Kawaikini Public Charter School, which held its ceremonies at the same time as the Kauai Community Market Saturday.
Sara Funtanilla was working audio at the Waimea graduation, but that did not stop her from swimming in the Mokihana Aquatics timed trials with distance, and Buddy and Dori Lizama were trying to figure out how to stay on their feet through graduation and Project Grad, after a long day. Now, where was Sean Doi?
Kudos to Tessa Ramsey (she was promoted to Western Region Sea Scout Boatswain, meaning she is the top Sea Scout youth leader in the entire western United States) and the Kauai Sea Scouts on spearheading the 2017 Ready, Set, Wear It! Life Jacket World Record Day (Commodore Larry Richardson was lamenting not being at USA Wrestling in Kapaa) to help kick off National Safe Boating Week.
OK, time to go check out Tina Albao and the Boys & Girls Club graduation celebration.
