WAILUA — Improvement projects are scheduled Monday at Healing Horses, Kauai Ranch, thanks to a $5,000 WORK Day Grant, said Sandy Webster, Healing Horses executive director.
“These projects include finishing the classroom, putting up areas of much-needed shade, and improving the horses’ living conditions,” Webster said.
Healing Horses expects about three dozen WORK Day workers from 12:30 to 3 p.m. to work on the facility at the Kuhio Highway end of the Kapaa bypass road.
“To make the most of the grant, we are looking for volunteer help, including trucks for hauling materials, and tools to borrow,” Webster said. “The WORK Day and Healing Horses teams invite anyone to visit the ranch on Monday and share aloha with these special people who have come to help us help the people of Kauai.”
Other projects include burying the water line; installing the water pump in the pond; running a water line to the planned garden and shade area; and replacing the old horse trailer with a proper feed room.
