Namolokama Canoe Club will host its annual North Shore Challenge on Sunday.
Paddlers will compete in varying sections by age group in an OC1 (one-man canoes) division, OC2 (two-man canoes) division, surf ski division, stand-up paddling division and V1 (rudderless canoes) division.
Competitions will also be divided between a long course and short course.
The short course will start at Anini Beach and paddlers will make their way to the Hanalei Pier. In the long course, paddlers will also start at Anini Beach, go toward nearby the Kilauea Lighthouse and then finish at the Hanalei Pier.
First-time and novice racers are encouraged to join the short course.
Lunch and an awards ceremony will take place afterwards at the Hanalei Pier hosted by the club.
Registration will begin 10 a.m. the morning of the event at the Anini boat ramp. Entry fee is $40 for OC2 entrants and $35 for all others.
Races will begin 11:30 a.m.
