Brittany Uribe, a student worker at the Kauai Community College Bookstore, said she was glad she got to work at the library when she was in high school because they had the task of distributing the graduation gear. The experience helped her with the KCC graduates (congratulations, all!) who celebrate their commencement exercises tonight at Vidinha Stadium.
Kudos to Sarah Tochiki who is in the middle of a crazy week of concerts (all free!), wrapping up with the craft fair Saturday morning from 8:30 to 1:30 p.m. benefiting the Kauai All-Island Band. Sarah said there will be more than 20 vendors, including Green Opihi (got your Kauai Home gear, yet?) and a lady who is selling mochi products. The fair will be at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School cafeteria.
Before that event, there is the Visitor Industry Charity Walk (watch for traffic advisories on Rice Street, Kapule Highway, Ahukini Road, and Umi Street) which starts with registration at 6:30 a.m., and the walk at 7 a.m.
Melissa McFerrin-Warrack said the Kauai Island Showcase will be doing songs honoring mom Saturday during The Shops at Kukuiula Art Walk from 6 p.m. at the Palm Court (that’s where they do the Chef’s Demo during The Kauai Culinary Market).
Happy Mother’s Day, Kauai!
