Terry and Denise Brown of Minnesota didn’t realize how many people would stop them and talk to them about his (never-been-worn-before) Kauai Emeralds cap he got online before his Kauai visit (how many of you remember when the Winter League had to build that fence to keep Ichiro Suzuki’s home runs from hitting cars on Kapule Highway?). Terry said he follows the minor leagues and could not believe there was a Kauai team while doing research before his trip. He got to meet people who played for the Emeralds (how many remember the Kauai Legends? And Jim Koishigawa? And when Ross Kagawa was the league manager?).
Gordon and Yolie Yee had a German guest, Alexandra Grimm, visiting and took her to check out the Kauai Museum and Kauai Marriott (great job, hosting the event at the Puna Court!) lei contest. They even had time to take in the Relay for Life (has Patti Ornellas caught up on sleep yet?). Sue Kanoho thought she was still in New York (is that what June Cappiello is doing?), and happy birthday to lei maker Madeline Guyett (Sue bid on Madeline’s lei so the birthday girl could have it).
Kudos to Pam Arroyo and the Regency at Puakea ohana on hosting a great May Day program with Tweety Kaluahine-Juarez and the Royal Legacy Productions! Nalani Brun even had time to bid on lei at the Kauai Museum lei contest following the program.
