HONOLULU — Kapaa High School boys volleyball, the current Kauai Interscholastic Federation champions, earned the No. 2 seed for the New City Nissan Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II boys volleyball state championships.
The announcement by the HHSAA Sunday indicates the Warriors will take the floor Thursday against the unseeded Konawaena High School in the quarterfinal matches which start at 5 p.m. at the Kalani High School gym on Oahu.
Hawaii Baptist earns the top seed in the Division II bracket, and Farrington gets the nod for the No. 3 seed. Molokai, opening state play against Hawaii Preparatory Academy, is the No. 4 seed.
Punahou gets the top seed in the Division I bracket at the state championships followed by Kamehameha-Hawaii in the No. 2 seed. Mililani is ranked No. 3 and Kamehameha-Maui gets the No. 4 seed.
The championship game for Division II boys volleyball will contest Saturday starting at 5 p.m. at the Blaisdell Center on Oahu.
