The finalists from the Kauai Interscholastic Federation tennis state qualifying tournament were named league all stars.
The all stars for boys singles are Island School sophomores David Janshen and Sasha Rovinsky. Janshen defeated Rovinsky in the boys singles final at the Hokuala Resort tennis courts earlier this month — 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The girls singles all stars are Kauai High School freshman Anna Burkman and Waimea High junior Kari Correa. Burkman beat Correa in the finals — 6-6 (7), 6-1, 6-1.
The boys doubles all stars are Waimea duo, junior Limar Medina and senior Joshua Subiate, and Kauai High pair, sophomore Trevor Carbonel and senior Cayson Lalin.
Medina and Subiate won the boys doubles final over Carbonel and Lalin — 6-4, 6-2.
The girls doubles all stars are Kapaa sophomore Sydney Nice and Chiara Fumagalli, and Kauai sophomore Hokulani Iseri and senior Kaylin Kukino.
Nice and Fumagalli defeated Iseri and Kukino by default after one of the Kauai team members left to fulfill other obligations.
Before the Kauai duo forfeited the third set, Iseri and Kukino won the first set, 6-2. Nice and Fumagalli won the second, 7-5.
The KIF finals winners will compete at the HMSA Tennis Championships state tournament at Royal Lahaina and Kapalua Tennis Garden on Maui. Play begins Thursday.
