Renowned ballerina Eve Lawson is returning to Kauai to hold three ballet workshops in Kilauea and Kapaa.
“I very much look forward to being back in beautiful Kauai to teach this workshop program for Ballet Kauai, Kilauea Studio, and all of the lovely and talented dancers on Kauai,” Lawson said.
The first workshop is noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at Kilauea Studio in Kilauea. The fee is $35. Info: www.kilaueastudio.com.
The second two workshops are from 12:30-3:30 p.m. on May 13 and 14 at the Soul Building ballet studio, Kapaa. Fees are $40 for each day. To register, contact Daniel Nelson, borneoboy@hotmail.com or 631-6326.
Lawson will also be teaching group intermediate/advanced technique classes and pointe classes while on Kauai. The technique classes are $18 and the pointe classes are $6.
Lawson received her training at the School of American Ballet.
Her experience includes being named Principal Ballet Mistress in 1998, Ballet Mistress of the Dance Theatre of Harlem in 2003, and then Ballet Mistress of the Dutch National Ballet in 2005.
In 2006 she served as Associate Director of the New York International Ballet Competition. From 2007 through 2011 she served as Ballet Mistress for the Norwegian National Ballet.
