Nikki Limpert said the Kauai Community College student art show opened Friday and will continue until April 30. She was doing gallery-sitting and showed off her duck dive piece (that’s the wave form surfers like to see) as well as a Chicago piece (labelled “City Boy”).
Student athletes were out and about despite a full day of competition — Hoku Iseri spent the evening with her family listening to The Starlighters after a full day of qualifying tennis, and Deven Kimoto was helping at the 15th annual Culinary Institute of the Pacific Spring Gourmet Gala (congratulations to Mark Oyama and all his helpers on another great event!). Coach Alton Amimoto came late because he was on the golf course taking care of Kauai Interscholastic Federation golf (AJ Apalla had the day’s best score at 80) on the opening day of qualifying.
Kudos to Greg Gonsalves on dealing with the rain in getting the qualifying tennis taken care of, and good luck to all the state-bound athletes.
