LBA to discuss transportation Thursday
The changing world of transportation services on Kauai is on the agenda of the Lihue Business Association’s meeting on Thursday.
Presenters will be Fred Jameson, Kauai Taxi Company; Jeremy Lee, program specialist, county transportation agency; and Andrew Magana, head of operations, Uber Hawaii.
Ride-hailing services Uber and Lyft have entered the Kauai market. They join the county bus and taxis in the paid transportation on island.
“Will the new competition lead to better services islandwide? How might the new services influence our long-term relationship with our cars, for instance as they experiment with such innovations as autonomous vehicles?” according to a press release.
The meetings is 7:30 to 9 a.m. at Duke’s Canoe Club, Kalapaki. It is free.
