PUHI — The Fast and the Furriest is Sunday at the Kauai Humane Society’s dog park.
There will be contests, games and prizes — all to highlight our love affair with pets and help KHS find homes for pets.
“It’s a celebration, a chance for the community to get out and enjoy themselves,” said Laura Lee, KHS development director.
There will be plenty of activities for dogs and their human companions from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Watch dogs strut their stuff in the furry fashion show, join the pet and owner look-alike contest, or test your skills in the best tail wag competition.
Community members are judging the competitions, Lee said.
Pets must sit before their people can grab a seat in a game of musical chairs, and there will be more opportunities to win prizes like baked goods from Barkaroo, leather collars and toys.
“And on the side, they’ll be doing little agility lessons for people and their dogs,” Lee said.
KHS is offering 65 percent off adoptions of all animals in the shelter on Sunday in celebration of KHS’s upcoming 65th anniversary in May.
