Ryan Forster of the Kauai Bee Team had a fancy contraption that held a chunk of honeycomb from which he could cut off small pieces to apply to fresh apple, cheese, or crackers.
He said Kauai Bee Team is a nonprofit organization and the bees are all saved from being exterminated, the honey being distributed to places like Kauai Hospice.
Kudos to Enoch A‘ana (he’s also the Kauai High School boys volleyball coach) and his ‘ohana on assembling that great (first one?) wedding expo. Linda Antipala (remember her from modeling and starting the Kauai All Girls Rodeo Association?) was enjoying the event with her granddaughter, who is getting married.
Marynel Valenzuela bought extra tickets trying to win the grand prize for the expo, and Kumu Leina‘ala Pavao Jardin had her Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala dancers had a special performance (we should have had a wedding simulation at the special arch set up outside the Koloa Landing convention center).
Kevin Mize is enjoying his stay, watching the mural take shape outside Hoku Foods in Kapaa. Erik Pendleton said the mural for inside the store is supposed to go up tonight, and people are welcome to stop by to watch MEAR ONE work his magic.
