WAILUA — Deven Kimoto finished at four-over par 76 (39-37) to lead the Kauai High School boys to the top of the Kauai Interscholastic Federation golf match Saturday at Wailua Golf Course.
The Red Raider boys kept their undefeated string going with a team 316, led by Kimoto’s 76, and Kamden Nii, who held a two-stroke advantage over Kimoto at the crossing and ended at 79 (37-42), followed closely by twin brother Kanoa Nii, who carded 41-39-80.
On the girls side, the Waimea wahine were not present due to the Menehune prom. That set the stage for Kauai’s Taryn Taguma, who fired an 84 (37-47) to lead the Red Raider ladies to their 262 team total, besting Kapaa High, which finished with a 311 behind the lead of Sam Coloma firing a 93 (48-45).
KIF golf continues Saturday at the Wailua Golf Course with the first grouping teeing off at noon.
