Jeffery Schumacher
Jeffery H. Schumacher passed away at the age of 59 in Lihue on March 7, 2017. He was born on June 29, 1957, in Lihue and was an inspector and Construction Manager for the Airport Division at the Lihue Airport.
He is preceded in death by his father, Carl W. Schumacher Jr. and brother, Gene L. Schumacher.
Jeffery is survived by his mother, Ululani J.P. Schumacher; brother, Carl (Annie) W. Schumacher III, nephew, Kyle A. (Keri) Schumacher; and grand-niece, Skye L. Schumacher.
Worship service will be held on Saturday, April 1, at Lihue Parish Hall, 4340 Nawiliwili Rd, behind King Auto. Visitation for the family is at 8 a.m., and for friends at 9 a.m. with services at 10 a.m. Private inurnment will be held at a later time.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
Akiko Okubo Masumura
Akiko Okubo Masumura of Lihue, Hawai’i passed away at Hale Kupuna in O’mao on Feb. 22, 2017, at the age of 100. Born in Halehaka, Hawai’i on Oct. 2, 1916, she was a retired cook for the Department of Education at Kaua’i High School.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Shu Masumura; son, Wayne Masumura; brothers, Kaoru Okubo and Suemi Okubo; and sisters, Tsugko Yokota and Yoneyo Hirota.
Akiko is survived by her son, Howard Masumura of Rodeo, California; daughter, Karen (Wallace) Yamamoto of Kalaheo, Kaua’i; grandchildren, Jeanine Masumura and Lynne Leung; sisters, Yaeko Muramoto of Honolulu, Hawai’i and Yasuo Urata of Ele’ele, Kaua’i; and numerous nieces and nephews.
No koden, please.
Private services were held.
