Francisca Alicuman Gray of Hanamaulu peacefully passed away on March 6, at the age of 78. She was born in Tuguegarao, Philippines on Sept. 17, 1938, and retired from Kapaa Sands as a housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Marcial Gray, and parents Benito and Semiona Alicuman.
She is survived by sons George Gray, Reynald Gray and Alfred (Ursula Langtad) Gray, all of Hanamaulu, daughter Justina (Sam) Bombay of Nevada, grandchildren Geordan Gray, Aaryn Gray and Justin Bombay, sister Cornelia Malana of the Philippines, sister-in-law Gloria Gray, brother-in-law Jose (Virginia) Gray, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 1 at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Ernest Walter Johnston of Lihue passed away on March 7, 2017 at the age of 73. He was born on April 27, 1943 in Jersey City, N.J.
He was sole proprietor of Johnston Financial Services.
He was preceded in death by parents Walter and Leone Johnston.
He is survived by wife Evelyn Johnston of Lihue, daughters Sandra Na‘ihe of Anahola, Gail (Doug) Fox of Michigan, Crystal (Mark) Ozaki of Kalaheo, Renee (Scott) Hieb of Washington, Wendy (Dante) Casillas of Kalaheo, Janel Hercules of Honolulu, Ashley (Bryce) Johnson of Kalaheo, son Ernest Johnston Jr. of Koloa, brothers Robert (Sue) Johnston of Georgia, Glenn Johnston of California, and 22 grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family Saturday, April 1, with viewing at 8:30 a.m. and service at 9:30 a.m., at Koloa Missionary Church. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.

Virginia Silva Rosa of Kapaa passed away in Garden Isle Health Care on March 16 at the age of 98. She was born in Kealia on Jan. 11, 1919 and retired from Hawaiian Fruit Packers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest F. Rosa, parents Francisco Silva and Isabela Quintal, brothers Manuel DeSilva, Frank Silva and Alfred Silva, sisters Josephine Chansky, Mary Rocha, Tina Garcia, Isabella Garcia, Amelia Rapozo and Georgina Carvalho.
She is survived by daughter Irene (Patrick) Lyons, son Leonard F. (Kaui) Rosa Sr., five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held on Thursday, March 30 at Kauai Memorial Gardens, with burial to follow.

Eric L. Nordmeier Sr.
Eric L. Nordmeier Sr. of Hanapepe passed away on Wednesday, March 15 at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 93. Born Jan. 20, 1924 in Waimea, he worked for Kekaha Sugar Company for 44 years.
He was preceded in death by wife Bernice M. Nordmeier, parents William Nordmeier and Anna Blackstad Nordmeier, brothers Julius and William Nordmeier, and sisters Lily Wramp, Christina Chong and Henrietta Palea.
He is survivied by sons Eric (Mitzi) Nordmeier Jr., Randy (Karen) Nordmeier and Darrick (Charlene) Nordmeier, daughters Donna Nordmeier and Margie (Dominic ) Alisna, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service will be held at a later time.

Masahiko Fujito of Lihue passed away at home on March 20 at the age of 76. He was born in Hiroshima, Japan on Aug. 6, 1940, and retired from Robert’s Hawaii.
He is survived by wife Irene Toshie Fujito, daughters Susan (Ben) Fujito-Rittmeister, Valerie (Stephen Pascua) Fujito of Kauai and Janice (Steven) DeSordi of Virginia, grandchildren Justin Fujito-Pascua, Kurtis Fujito-Pascua, Lauren DeSordi and Kaulu Rittmeister, and long-time friend GayAnn Gandia.
Private services were held.
