LIHUE — The combined contribution from employees of Enterprise, Alamo and National car rentals to the Kauai United Way annual campaign topped $50,000.
“We at Kauai United Way are tremendously grateful to the management and employees of Enterprise, Alamo and National for achieving such a successful campaign,” said Lynnette Medrano-Stine, KUW campaign development director and community liaison.
The total donation of $54,372 came from employee pledges of $36,248 and $18,124 from Enterprise Holdings.
Samira Siale of Enterprise said Enterprise Holdings embraces the United Way program. The result is a competitive spirit to raise money that benefits the community.
“We’re looking for a dunking booth to create even more fun and community-based events for our next year’s programs,” Siale said. “Does anyone have one we can use?”
Scott Giarman, KUW executive director, said the gift will help the agency address social service programs.
“One contribution helps our entire island,” Giarman said.
