Traning ‘Trinidad’ Fernandez
Traning “Trinidad” Fernandez of Hanamaulu passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Feb. 24, 2017, at the age of 91. She was born in Lihue, Kauai on Nov. 11, 1925, and was a dedicated homemaker.
Preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio Fernandez; sons, Julian Fernandez and Colan Fernandez Sr., daughter, Victoria Maghanoy; grandchildren, Colan Fernandez Jr., Perry Keough, Cleavon Fernandez; parents, Andres and Victoria Tomacder, brothers, Dado Tomacder and Ricarte Tumacder; sisters, Remi Aquino and Maria Amorin.
Traning is survived by three sons, Melvin (Marilyn) Fernandez, Anthony (Alicia) Fernandez, Colin (Laurie) Fernandez; three daughters, Norma Fernandez, Esmenia (Franklin) Hiraoka Sr., Peggy (Scott) Keough; 27 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Immaculate Conception church with viewing from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Fernandez family with arrangements.
Rosa Pulido Cuaresma
Rosa Pulido Cuaresma of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on March 16, 2017, at the age of 88 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, Lihue. She was born on Aug. 30, 1928, in Paoay Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She was a retired Teacher at King Kaumualii Elementary School.
She was preceded in death by: parents, Santiago & Isabel Pulido, husband, Federico Cuaresma, son, Teody Cuaresma, daughter, Joyce Cuaresma.
She is survived by: son, Edgardo (Zenaida) Cuaresma, Canada; daughters, Maribel (Ulysses) Jacalne, California, Mildred “Millie” (Paul) Curtis, Kauai; 8 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Saint Raphael Catholic Church, Koloa.
Visitation at 8 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m.

Ernest Walter Johnston of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on March 7, 2017, at the age of 73. He was born on April 27, 1943, in New Jersey City, New Jersey. He was a sole proprietor of Johnston Financial Services.
He was preceded in death by: parents, Walter and Leone Johnston
He is survived by: wife, Evelyn Johnston, Lihue; daughters, Sandra Na’ihe, Anahola, Gail (Doug) Fox, Michigan, Crystal (Mark) Ozaki, Kalaheo, Renee (Scott) Hieb, Washington, Wendy (Dante) Casillas, Kalaheo, Janel Hercules, Honolulu, Ashley (Bryce) Johnson, Kalaheo; son, Ernest Johnston Jr., Koloa; brothers, Robert (Sue) Johnston, Georgia, Glenn Johnston, California, and 22 grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family Saturday, April 1, 2017. Viewing at 8:30 a.m. Service at 9:30 a.m. at Koloa Missionary Church. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.

Martin Luther Mills III of Kapaa, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on March 15, 2017, at the age of 69. Born on Jan. 3, 1948, in Boston, Massachusetts, he was a contractor.
He was preceded in death by: Martin and Natalie Mills.
He is survived by: wife, Sandra Coppola, Kapaa; sons, Martin (Lori) Mills IV, Washington, Walter Mills, Honolulu; daughter, Jennifer Mills, Kalaheo; brothers, David Madsen, New Hampshire, Chris (Kathy) Mills, Maryland, Jon (Kiko) Mills, Massachusetts, Ben (Galina) Mills, Rhode Island, and 2 grandchildren.
