WAILUA — Brothers Kamden and Kanoa Nii both finished a stroke over par on the back nine Saturday at Wailua Golf Course during the make up of a Kauai Interscholastic Federation golf match rained out two weeks ago.
Kamden opened up three strokes better than Kanoa on the front nine to finish with the boys’ lowest round at three-over 75 followed by Kanoa coming off the 18th hole at 78, three strokes off the pace. The pair led the Kauai High School boys to a team total 320 to claim the round.
Kekoa Eisenhour topped the Kapaa golfers with an 89 (43-46) to lead the Warriors to a team 383. Waimea’s Nick Esposo tied Eisenhour at 89 (40-49) to lead the Menehune to a 411.
Dillyn Sakai of Kauai High School carded the best score on the girls’ course, finishing with an 85 (44-41), combining with Taryn Taguma (44-45-89) to lead the Lady Red Raiders to a team 264, three dozen strokes ahead of Kapaa High School who got a 92 (44-48) from Naia Burkart and a 95 (48-47) from Sam Coloma to finish at 296.
Daneia Muraoka had the best round for Waimea at 97 (51-46) to lead the Menehune wahine to a team 324.
The next KIF golf match will be contested April 1, with the first groups teeing off from noon at Wailua Golf Course.
