McDonald’s of Hawaii will sponsor the 10th annual FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) in Hawaii Regional Robotics Competition, scheduled March 31 and April 1 at the UH Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
High school robotics teams from across the state will compete against mainland and international teams for the regional title and a chance to participate in the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas in mid-April. 2017.
This is the sixth consecutive year McDonald’s has sponsored the competition.
Hawaii teams will conduct in-store robotics demonstrations at McDonald’s restaurant during the week of March 20 to 26 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Customers can get a firsthand look at the students’ creations.
They will be at the Lihue McDonald’s on March 22.
Last year, McDonald’s donated $40,000 from the statewide fundraiser.
