Felix Domingo Lazo
Felix Domingo Lazo of Kapaa passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Feb. 24, 2017, at the age of 78. He was born in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on Feb. 21, 1939, and retired as an accountant with Kauai Resort Hotel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Anacleta Lazo.
Felix is survived by his wife, Nenita Salud Lazo of Kapaa; daughter, Sudim S. (Brian Mundy) Lazo of Virginia; sons, Soliman S. Lazo and Verlinus S. Lazo, both of Oahu; brothers, Rodrigo (Luzviminda) Lazo, Julio (Rose) Lazo, Danilo (Lynda) Lazo; sister, Josefa (Rogelio) Alejo all of Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall with viewing from 9 a.m. and services celebrated at 11 a.m.
Funeral services will also be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary with viewing from 9 a.m. and services beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Valley of the Temples at noon.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Lazo family with arrangements.
Robert T. Dmytryszyn
Robert “Detroit Bob” Dmytryszyn passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Jan. 15, 2017. Born on Sept. 12, 1956, in Wayne County, Detroit, Bob was a local musician with the Kauai Blues Society and creator of the Pineapple Shack Studio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and John, and three brothers and one sister. He is survived by brothers Donald and Philip of Harrison Township, Michigan.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, March 17, at Lumahai Beach beginning at 10 a.m.
Van G. DeCosta
Van G. DeCosta, 55, of Hanapepe, Kauai, passed away on Feb. 6, 2017, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on Dec. 16, 1961, in Waimea, Kauai, he was preceded in death by his father, William DeCosta.
He is survived by his mother, Dolores DeCosta; brothers Ross (Bernadette) DeCosta, Billy (Drena) DeCosta, Rod DeCosta; sisters Belinda DeCosta, Lyne (Nick) Lum; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
