Lesah Merritt (she was at the Rotary Club of Poipu Beach’s “One Fine Evening”) said she’s into television now after one of the networks was in her Safeway store at Hokulei Village doing filming (Sam Choy was here, again!) for a food show — Blanche Acoba (remember her birthday a few days ago?) said you had to be there at 5 a.m. (oh yeah — the store is open 24 hours a day).
Was Kenny Ishii there?
Kenny was busy showing Darius, Bella (she’s the mayor of Boonville), and Julie Richmond of Mendocino County, California, the inside track of the Kauai Community Market Saturday after the Boonville General Store owners stopped off for some grinds (Darius said he had the rice) and shave ice at the Ono Family Restaurant. (What? No pork chops and eggs?) OK, what’s next on the agenda?
Mahalo to Glenn Mickens, Anahola Joel Pahukula, Coach Lois Keamoai, Joyce Evens (she even called when we were at “One Fine Evening”), and even Yukie DeSilva for helping to collate all the results from Saturday’s crazy Kauai Interscholastic Federation sports schedule (Sherri Ephan even ran out of batteries because she was so busy texting Coach Larry Ephan, who had to work).
Kudos to Barbara Natland (she was super busy Friday) and “Pastor” Jim Merritt for getting the Kauai Education Association for Science and Astronomy Star Watch set up at Kukui Grove Center Friday night (yep, it was the full moon and a lot of people wanted to see a good close-up of the moon).
