Matsuo Fujinaka
Matsuo Fujinaka of Kapaa passed away at home on March 2, 2017, at the age of 92. He was born in Kapaa, Kauai on Sept. 21, 1924, and retired from Kauai Beach Boy as head of Maintenance.
Preceded in death by his parents, Yoshitaro and Kinu; sisters, Harue Fong and Asako Takeuchi; brother, Wataru Fujinaka.
Matsuo is survived by his wife, Burnette Fujinaka; children, Regina (Ryan) Jimenez, Marvin (Penny) Fujinaka, Wendy (John) Fujinaka, Lisa (Rodd) Sunada; grandchildren, Rachel (Peter) van Treuren; Kayla Sunada, Rodd Sunada II; great-grandchild, Seth van Treuren; sister-in-law, Mazie Fujinaka; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private service was held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Fujinaka family with arrangements.
Elena Elaine Seals
Elena Elaine Seals of Lihue passed away on Kauai at the age of 68 on Feb. 20, 2017. She was born on Oahu on Feb. 21, 1948, and was a pastor.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cheryl Moana Marie Medina.
Elaine is survived by her sons, John C. (Linda) Davis, Julian P. (Kehau) Davis, Philip J. (Angie) Davis, and Larry J. Davis; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, brother, Art Pavao; and sister, Bernie Vierra.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the Aloha Church in Lihue from 9 to 10 a.m. Services will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a burial at the Lihue Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed.

Kahu Gilbert “Papa Kunia” Kalaola Pahulehua Jr. passed away on March 2, 2017, on Kauai. He was a foreman for Niihau Ranch, a boat captain for Noio & Hoio, and Kahu for Iubile Church, Niihau.
A celebration of life will be held at the Garden Island on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 9 a.m. with services to follow at 10:45 a.m. The burial will take place at the Hawaiian Cemetery in Kekaha and lunch will be at the Kekaha Community Center.
