Pacita Balaan Ramento
Pacita Balaan Ramento, formerly of Hanamaulu, passed away on Feb. 4, 2017, peacefully at home in the Philippines at the age of 95. She was born on Jan. 1, 1922, in Cadcadir, Claveria, Cagayan, Philippines. She was a seed planter and retired from Lihue Plantation.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Cirilo Sagucio Ramento, sons Illustre and Ludivico Ramento, parents Cornelio and Ciriaca Balaan, brother Juan Balaan, sister-in-law Florentina Balaan, sister Crispina B. Martinez and brother-in-law Julian Martinez.
She is survived by son Romy (Criselda) Ramento of Hanamaulu, daughter Connie (Inocencio “Joe”) Alcaraz of Puhi, grandchildren Imelda (Morace) Romero of Philippines, Ferdinand Ramento of Oahu, Marvin (Erleeh) Ramento and Michael (Jenny) Ramento of Oregon, Joseph (Jackie Lou) Alcaraz, Janelyn (Hermoso Jr.) Parallag and Cheryl (Mykel) Parallag of Puhi, 13 great- grandchildren, Johanna and Princess Romero of Philippines, Kristal Mae and Nadine Tabernero of Maui, Sharmayne Joy and Xian Angelo Alcaraz, Janessa Haydee and Hayven Gabe Parallag and Chretzen Mikael Parallag, all of Kauai, and Poseidon, Orion Koa and Oceana Ramento of Oregon, sister Constancia (Alfredo) Acob and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Memorial services were held in the Philippines.
Arrangements were handled by Pioneer M&E Funeral Home Services, Cagayan, Philippines.
Dennis Pablo Tadije
Dennis Pablo Tadije, 44, of Koloa, passed away on Feb. 12 at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on Aug. 9, 1972, in the Philippines, he was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a maintenance man at Lawai Beach Resort.
He is survived by his wife Eden Macadangdang Tadije; daughters Natalie Tadije and Naiome Tadije; parents Albino and Soledad Negrillo; sisters Marlyn (Juan) Ampoloquio, Leilani (Dominick) Lopez, Mabel (Jeff) Alejandro; and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 18, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Koloa from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., and burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Borthwick Kauai Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Karen Yoshime Aulani Yoshino Lumacad, 57, of Lihue, food and beverage manager of Hookipa Cafe at Puakea Golf Course, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Wilcox Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by parents Kenneth and Harriette Yoshino.
She is survived by husband Claude Lumacad, daughter Nicole Lumacad (Rustin Tom), son Jason (Jessica) Lumacad, grandchildren Kainalu Lumacad- Aguinaldo, Zayden and Kalena Tom and Keiren and Teighzen Lumacad, sisters Lianne Yoshino, Noreen (Kurt) Javinar and Elise (Jesse) Guirao, six nephews, one niece, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of life and services will be held at Borthwick Mortuary Koloa on Thursday, March 9. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., and service at 11 a.m.
