The Shadow knows!” Jerome Freitas, a retired state Department of Transportation worker now known as Da Shadow, has been meeting with government representatives about problems he has discovered or that have been reported to him, and reporting the county’s responses.
Eleele Pavilion and Softball Field
The recreational areas have been without electricity for approximately six months. When will the electricity be turned back on?
It was discovered that the existing electrical meter at this facility needed to be replaced because it was damaged. County electricians have reinstalled the new meter and KIUC has restored power to the facility.
Kapaa Fire Station
The fencing surrounding the fire station is rusted and falling apart. What are the plans and timetable for replacement?
This fence is part of Waipouli Town Center, not the fire station. Concerns about its condition should be brought to the shopping center’s management company.
Anahola Village Park
Please provide a status update on the replacement of the playground equipment.
In speaking with the community, there was some interest in reconfiguring the new playground equipment to improve safety. The Department of Parks and Recreation has a proposed redesign from the vendor and will be hosting a community meeting in the near future.
