Starting Sunday, The Garden Island will be publishing profiles on the seven candidates for the Kauai Island Utility Cooperative board of directors.
The candidates are:
• Juno Ann Apalla
• Dee Crowell
• Norma Doctor Sparks
• KipuKai Kuali‘i
• Jim Mayfield
• Hermina Morita
• Allan A. Smith
A different candidate will be featured each day on the front page. The stories will be posted at TGI’s website as well.
A director is one of nine elected representatives of the members of KIUC. The Board of Directors sets the strategic direction and policies of the cooperative.
Election packets were recently mailed out. Members can vote by paper ballot, phone or online. Election information can be found at www.kiuc.coop.
