Sueharu Umakoshi of Kapaa passed away on Feb. 14, 2017, at the age of 82. He was born in Yamaguchi-Ken Japan on May 6, 1934, and retired as a stone mason and employee with the Coco Palms Hotel.
Proceeded in death by his parents Hisagoro and Kiku Umakoshi, sister Tsuyoko Ishida, and brother Iwao Umakoshi of Japan.
Sueharu is survived by his wife Amy, sons Derek (Becky, Alex, Ian) of Alabama, Wesley (Sandra, Kristin) of Kauai, Alan (Shanna, Alanna), Mike (Sheri, Rylee, Sachi, Lara), daughter Terry (Kent, Kelsey, Korey) of Oahu. Sisters Keiko Hirano of Oahu, Matsumi, Hisami and Utako of Japan.
Private services were held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Umakoshi family with arrangements.
