LIHUE — “We got a $1,000 donation from the Gay & Robinson people,” said Stacie Chiba-Miguel, Kukui Grove Center real estate manager and secretary for the Kumu’s Cupboard board of directors Saturday.
Kukui Grove Center celebrated the grand opening of the nonprofit organization that supports Kauai’s educators and educational staff from the public, private, and charter schools by offering a source for school supplies, office supplies, student incentives, and materials for arts and science projects for free.
Kukui Grove also welcomed three Chinese Lions to celebrate the Chinese New Year which celebrated the Year of the Rooster on Saturday. The lions danced their way throughout the mall, stopping for photo opportunities and accepting li si, or good luck offerings, from the crowd of admirers.
