LIHUE — The release of the film, “Gardens of Grace: Kauai” is a culmination of 75 years of life lessons and it’s a collaborative offering to the land.
That’s how the film’s producer and painter Leonora Orr describes the film, which will be screened in a free showing at Kukui Grove Cinema at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
“It’s about honoring the land and endeavoring to offer youth a message of celebrating yourself and having a long life,” Orr said. “And inspiring them to hold hands with other people who are caretakers of the land.”
The film will be released in celebration of Orr’s 75th birthday and has themes of connectivity with nature and love for oneself and the other people on Earth.
“If I die tomorrow, and any of us could, I want to leave a legacy to this island,” Orr said.
