The Kauai North Shore Lions Club is accepting applications for its annual scholarship program.
During each of the last 30 years, the North Shore Lions Club has awarded scholarships to students of Kauai’s North Shore to support and encourage continuing education.
Eligible students must attend full time an institution of higher learning and also have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The applicant must live between Moloaa and Haena. Applications, due by March 31, can be obtained at www.kauainorthshorelions.org.
Lions Club members say the program is made possible through community support. Major fundraisers include an annual pancake breakfast, golf tournament and the sale of See’s candy.
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic performance, leadership, community involvement and volunteerism.
Last year, the North Shore Lions Club awarded more than $19,000 to help students with college expenses.
