LIHUE — The United States Postal Service is considering closing the Lihue Post Office on Rice Street in order to consolidate retail operations, according to USPS officials.
Operations at Lihue would be consolidated with the USPS Carrier Annex facility at 3230 Kapule Highway, 1.3 miles away from the Rice Street Post Office.
A public meeting to discuss the proposal will be held at a date that is yet to be determined. In the meantime, comments about the proposal can be sent to the contact person listed below.
