HAENA — The Kalalau Trail will be closed to day-hikers on Jan. 19, according to the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Weather permitting, the DLNR will be working on a rockfall mitigation project that is located between Haena and Hanakapiai Stream.
Overnight hiker and campers with a valid camping permit will be allowed access on the trail with intermittent pedestrian controls at the work site.
Overnight hiker and campers may experience short delays, according to the DLNR.
