Roads in dire need of repairs
New council, new year and all the road repair trucks have vanished. I know the council states that we are millions behind on road repairs, but it appears nothing is being done. Surely there is something left in the kitty for essential repairs.
The worst road areas are the Tunnel of Trees to Koloa (still no white and yellow lines and center cats eyes through the dark tunnel) together with potholes; and the road from Coconut Marketplace to Wailua River — definitely not a good feel for locals or tourists.
Re-striping all the pedestrian crossings on the island would do wonders for pedestrian safety. Many of them have become invisible.
And a final thought: When the road is dug up to put down pipes, etc., the contractors should drive across the blacktop they have just put down.
The area in front of the Coconut Marketplace is now a great big hump, and the one between the Tunnel of Trees and Koloa is sunken. Quality control step missing on both.
