HAENA — A Canadian tourist was rescued from the Hanakoa Valley Sunday.
Rescuers were dispatched to Hanakoa for a hiker in distress about 11 a.m. Rescue 3 aboard Air 1 responded to the scene and located a female hiker with an injured foot unable to hike out on her own.
The 49-year-old was airlifted to the Princeville Airport, which is part of the Kalalau Trail, where she was turned over to awaiting medics in good condition.
