Helen Gomes Kaui
Helen Gomes Kaui of Kapahi, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Dec. 28, 2016, at Garden Island Healthcare at the age of 91.
Born on April 19, 1925, in Kealia, Kauai she was retired from Kauai Beach Boy Hotel as a laundry attendant a laundry attendant.
Preceded in death by: husband, David Kaui Jr., sister, Clara Rapozo.
Survived by: son’s, Irving (Stella) Kaui, Kapahi, Leonard (Luella) Kaui, Wailua Homesteads, Eric (Deborah) Kaui, Kapahi, Jason (Lani) Kaui, Wailua Homesteads, daughter’s, Carolyn (Dennis) De Silva, Kapahi, Adele (Matthew) Santos, Kapahi, brothers: Joe Gomes, California, Stanley Gomes, California, Alan Avillanoza Honolulu, Walter Avillanoza, sister, Jane Windberg, Washington; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, 19 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren and 28 great great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church, Kapaa.
Visitation at 9 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 9:45 a.m. Burial to follow at Saint Catherine’s Cemetery.
Family suggest casual attire.

Alvin ‘Biggie’ Mancao
Alvin “Biggie” Mancao of Lihue, Kauai passed away at the age of 75 on Dec. 29, 2016, in Lihue. Born on Sept. 1, 1941, in Waimea, Kauai and was a U.S. Army veteran and a team member of Kaua’i Collision Center.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alvarez Adams; father, Crispin Mancao; and daughter, Angela Georgette Mancao.
Alvin is survived by his sons, Lawrence “Larry” (Rita) Mancao of Everett, Washington, and Alvin Potenciano Mancao of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren, Anna Mancao, Anthony Mancao, Jordan Mancao, and Jacob Mancao; brothers, George (Rhiza) Alvarez of Honolulu, Andrew Mancao of Honolulu, and Michael Adams of Lihue; sisters, Abigail Ownbey of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Angela Triplett of San Diego, California, Rosalie Diaz of USA, Gloria Kenney of Lihue, Paula (Emerson) Souza of Waianae, and Gladys (John) Jacinto of Kaumakani; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. with the remembrance service to begin at 3 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed.

Gail Frederick Farwell
Gail Frederick Farwell of Kapaa passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 29, 2016, at the age of 95. He was born in New York on Nov. 15, 1921, and was a retired University Professor.
Preceded in death by his twin brother, Gaylord Farwell.
Gail is survived by his son, Todd Farwell; daughter, Heidi Farwell and one granddaughter.
Private services were held.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Farwell family with arrangements.
Resa Liena Keller
Resa Liena Keller of Waimea, Kauai, Hawaii passed away on Dec. 21, 2016, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 41.
Born on June 15, 1975, in Waimea, Kauai.
Preceded in death by: mother, Diane Ragragola Keller
Survived by: father, Nelson Keller, Waimea sister’s, Corrina Pascua Keller, Utah, Erika Keller, Washington, Emma Keller, Waimea, brother, Nelson J.M.K. Keller, Waimea, grandmother’s, Bernice “Mary” Ragragola Luz Keller, Reno and numerous aunties and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary, Koloa.
Visitation at 9 a.m. Service at 10 a.m. Luncheon to follow at Lucy Wright Park, Waimea. Family suggest flowers be omitted.
