Makani Nami Chun stole the show at the Nippon Maru Planning Committee meeting as she voiced her comments happily snuggled in the arms of her dad Dennis Chun while her mom Kyoko Ikeda conducted the meeting at the Kauai Community College Office of Continuing Education and Training offices.
Kyoko said people who want to see the Nippon Maru (Shale Shore and her Kauai Sailing Association young people are touring the ship Saturday) arrive can do so at the Nawiliwili Harbor jetty wall area (park outside and walk in to reduce traffic congestion in the area) around 3 p.m. Friday. There are also a limited supply of tickets to the luau (Matthew Kawamura is already worrying about pounding mochi) Saturday to welcome the cadets and officers.
Mahalo to Sharon Lasker of the Regency at Puakea for the update on Randie Peters’ Make-A-Wish Plank Challenge. According to Sharon, Randie made it to the national low plank challenge by winning the $500 grand prize. Congratulations to Randie who said he will donate the winnings back to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
