McBryde, Allerton, or Limahuli Gardens are a botanical treasure of tropical flora, containing collections of native Hawaiian species and many other plants that have been collected from the tropical regions of the world.
NTBG is seeking volunteer gardener horticulture assistants to help care for plants by planting, weeding, watering, trimming, and raking.
This role would suit someone who is interested in learning more about plants and gaining skills in gardening. Volunteers will be serving under the supervision of NTBG staff horticulture technician. No previous experience is necessary.
It does require working on uneven terrain, being exposed to sun, wind and rain, bending and some light lifting for about four hours each shift.
Visiting volunteers are welcome. Ongoing opportunities are also available. Contact volunteer@ntbg.org for more information. Or, fill out the on line volunteer interest form http://ntbg.org/volunteer
