Alvin ‘Biggie’ Mancao
Alvin “Biggie” Mancao of Lihue, Kauai passed away at the age of 75 on Dec. 29, 2016, in Lihue. Born on Sept. 1, 1941, in Waimea, Kauai and was a U.S. Army veteran and a team member of Kauai Collision Center.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alvarez Adams; father, Crispin Mancao; and daughter, Angela Georgette Mancao.
Alvin is survived by his sons, Lawrence “Larry” (Rita) Mancao of Everett, Washington, and Alvin Potenciano Mancao of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren, Anna Mancao, Anthony Mancao, Jordan Mancao, and Jacob Mancao; brothers, George (Rhiza) Alvarez of Honolulu, Andrew Mancao of Honolulu, and Michael Adams of Lihue; sisters, Abigail Ownbey of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Angela Triplett of San Diego, California, Rosalie Diaz of USA, Gloria Kenney of Lihue, Paula (Emerson) Souza of Waianae, and Gladys (John) Jacinto of Kaumakani; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. with the remembrance service to begin at 3 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested and flowers are welcomed.

Frances Blankenship
Frances Blankenship of Hanapepe Heights, Kauai formerly of Anchorage, Alaska passed away on Dec. 26, 2016, at her residence at the age of 92.
Born on May 23, 1924. in Lubbock, Texas she was a self employed seamstress.
She is preceded in death by: husband, Gainy Blankenship, son, Vernon Pryor, numerous siblings
Survived by: daughter, Ronda (Emilio) Fernandez, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at King’s Chapel Eleele. Service at 10 a.m.

Abraham Nelson Lopes
Abraham Nelson Lopes born Dec. 3, 1938, passed away peacefully at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 29, 2016, at the age of 78.
Preceded in death by his wife Lana Lei (Nakamura) Lopes, his parents John and Ester (Amorin) Lopes, his brother and sisters John Lopes, Mildred Texeira and Hazel Kosuga.
He is survived by his children Jessica Ortiz of Virginia, James (Selomiti) Lopes of Lihue, Chucka Lopes of Lihue, Jessica (Gregory) Paku of Honolulu, Joseph (Tiana) Lopes of Hanamaulu, and Julia (Larry) Palmeira of Hanamaulu. His grandchildren and great grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private service and scattering of ashes at a later date.
A Go Fund Me account has been set up to help the family ease the financial responsibilities.
Patricia ‘Pat’ Rita Perreira
Patricia “Pat” Rita Perreira of Reno, Nevada and formally of Kauai passed away on Dec. 26, 2016, at her home in Reno. She was born on June 24, 1945, on Kauai. She was retired.
She is preceded in death by her parents Antone “Tony” Rita Sr. and Dorothy Gomes Rita and brother Leonard Rita Jr.
She is survived by her husband Norman Perreira Sr., daughters Dora Perreira, Jennifer Perreira and son Norman Perreira, Jr. all of Reno, NV, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, brothers Leonard (Brenda) Rita Sr. and Antone “Tony” Rita Jr. of California, Wally (Connie) Rita Sr. of Kauai, sisters Bernie (August) Ventura and Debra Iwamoto of Kauai, numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Private celebration of life was held in Reno, NV and on Kauai.
Lauro ‘Larry’ S. Saniatan
Lauro “Larry” S. Saniatan, 54 years old of Hanapepe, Kauai Passed away on Dec. 23, 2016, at his home in Hanapepe.
Born on Aug. 18, 1962, in the Philippines he was a retired landscaper.
He is survived by his wife, Buena Saniatan; daughters: Maryjoy Saniatan, Keycee Saniatan and Leeann Saniatan, father: Basilio Saniatan, brother: Tony (Lolita) Sopapo; sisters: Simplicia (Franklin) Tugade, Wilma (George) Wagner, Nenita (Andy) Puruganan, Peth (David) Limpert and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
Burial to follow at Hanapepe public cemetery.

Tom Gray Halasey
Tom Gray Halasey of Kilauea passed away at home on Dec. 30, 2016, at the age of 94. He was born in Washington on March 20, 1922, and retired as a Medical Doctor with Redondo Beach Medical Clinic.
Preceded in death by his wife, Blair Halasey.
Tom is survived by his son, Joe (Cynthia) Halasey of Kilauea, three daughters, Janet (Bob) Kutkowski of Anini Beach, Blair (Tom) Church of Arroyo Grande, California, Alexandra Halasey of Kilauea; 7 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; one niece.
