LIHUE — The deadline for the re-certification of additional dwelling unit’s outside the residential zoning district has been extended.
The bill recently passed 6 to 1 by the Kauai County Council Oct. 5 and signed into law by Mayor Bernard Carvalho, Jr.
The deadline for re-certification is June 30.
Failure to successfully complete a re-certification application by the June 30 deadline will result in the loss of all entitlements for building and zoning permits associated with a potential ADU.
A $250 fee must be submitted along with the application.
Re-certification forms are available at the Planning Department at the Lihue Civic Center, Kapule Building.
