LIHUE — Two-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Stuart Hollinger will have his Kauai rock and roll band “1st Cut” opening up the pau hana celebration Dec. 2 in the parking lot fronting Rob’s Good Times Grill in the Rice Shopping Center.
The band, consisting of Hollinger on bass guitar and vocals, Ricky Skerik on lead guitar and vocals, and Jerome Camposeo on drums, will be entertaining with a free concert during the Toys for Tots 2016 toy drop that will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. — just ahead of the Festival of Lights opening ceremony, and the Rotary Club of Kauai Lights on Rice holiday parade.
Donations of a new, unwrapped toy, or monetary contributions are welcomed.
On Dec. 3, 1st Cut moves to the parking lot outside the Ono Family Restaurant in Kapaa where it will provide entertainment for another Toys for Tots toy drop from 5 to 8 p.m.
This free event is part of the First Saturday festivities hosted by the Kapaa Business Association, said Kenny Ishii of Ono Family Restaurant.
“We’re going to start decorating right after Thanksgiving,” Ishii said. “There will be a Santa making his appearance, candy and a slew of prizes for new toy donors. The drawings for the prizes will take place later in the month of December.”
