HANAMAULU — Kauai police have confirmed the identities of the victim and suspect involved in a murder-suicide that occurred early Saturday morning in an apartment at Kalepa Village in Hanamaulu.
Police have identified the female victim as Janese Singh, 40, and the male suspect as Janese’s ex-husband, Juanito Singh, 67.
Patrol officers arrived to the apartment at approximately 3:45 a.m. The man was presumed dead at the scene. The woman was transported to Wilcox Hospital where she later died.
An autopsy performed Monday confirmed that Janese died of multiple gunshot wounds, while Juanito died of a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The couple’s children are now in the custody of Child Protective Services.
This case remains under police investigation.
