Get ready for pumpkins! The Harvest Ag Festival takes place today from 11 a.m. at the Waimea Canyon Park — Sandi Kato-Klutke said she’ll be sculpting pumpkins because every time the kids see her, she’s cutting up pumpkins. Sandi was distributing the free hot dogs, popcorn and soda tickets (mahalo to the Friends and Family of Agriculture) at the Kauai Chamber of Commerce political forum at Waimea Theater (Thomas Nizo even put out a large screen monitor for those who didn’t want to miss any of the action while waiting on their snacks).
Dee Morikawa and Victoria Franks, candidates for state representatives, District 16, were both on hand even if they never had a chance to be on the table. They were able to visit with members of the audience and even took their place on the side of Kaumualii Highway with their supporter signs.
Anna Baudouin (she sure wears a lot of hats) said the Haunted House (Thursday to Saturday at Waimea Canyon Park) will start setting up Tuesday.
Sarah Thompson said the bugs will be out when Kekaha Elementary School does its field trip to one of the seed companies, and Tiffany Dodge said the Aloha Dance Studio (great job at the YWCA candlelight vigil!) zombies will invade the Syngenta Seed fields for the Syngenta employees’ Halloween.
