Kudos to Todd Ozaki and his Menehune wahine bowlers on crossing the winner’s circle! The Waimea girls picked up its first win in Kauai Interscholastic Federation bowling Thursday night at the Kauai Bowl (congratulations to Trevor Passmore on being a National Merit Commended Student, as well!)
Trevor’s parents own Kauai Bowl (that’s how we got to have him as a student on Kauai) and he spends some time working the bowling center as well. And congratulations to Akira Takabayashi on being the National Merit Semifinalist!
Trevor was at the KIF cross country meet (we had our two National Merit Commended Students there as Sydney Brady had her family out in force — dad Chuck said Ben is climbing the ranks from the bottom, and Sydney is still one of the top Kauai finishers. Chuck and Kevin Matsunaga were not golfing Friday so Kevin got to see Micah do his photo finish as the No. 5 runner for the Kauai High School boys.
Marissa Purcel (mahalo for being so diligent in getting the bowling results!) said the KIF cross country championships is this Saturday at Island School.
And bowling is not done, yet because Coach Todd’s Menehune needs two more w’s to force a winner-take-all game against Kauai.
