Richard Nawai was stoked over the support from Solar City, RBI Solar, Dixie Construction, Helix Electric and other firms involved in the solar farm for their support of the Island School third graders’ 3-Day Adventure. Debra DeBusca said other sponsors included Kauai Air Conditioning (Bobby Ayonon was waiting in line to order), Kauai Pasta, Kapaa, A‘akukui Ranch, Wellington Fence, Wa‘alani Enterprises that allowed the kids a good profit at the Island School Fall Round Up (Aliana Ho was scooping ice cream, and Carolyn Price had her hands full with balloons).
Debra said the third graders do the two-night, three-day (including an overnighter at the Aquarium) later in the school year as an annual “Adventure,” learning and even doing college fam tours while having fun.
Former Honolulu mayor Jeremy Harris (he was a council member here, too) had his family fully involved as Victoria Harris got help from Justine Bennett in getting the third graders, including Annie Jer Harris, Saebrie Pegeder, Maddie Halliday, Lily Glock, Ryan So, Zachary Bennett, and Graydon Rosenthal ready to pull the water wagon around the Round Up for sales outside the Cowkids Diner (Debra said this was all the kids’ idea).
