Give Jill Stein a chance in debates
The first of the election debates is Sept. 26. These debates are the strongest determiner of how people will vote come November. I would like to hear from a third party, my choice is Green Party Candidate Jill Stein who brings light at the end of a dark tunnel.
Here are some facts you might want to know that have precluded her from being included in the debates:
Democrats and Republicans fund media favoritism. Stein’s TV and radio time is limited because of this.
The Debate Commission which sets up the national debates is no longer publicly funded but a private corporation funded by Democrats and Republicans. This excludes third party candidates from the debate.
This corrupt commission has arbitrarily determined that candidates must earn a rating of at least 15 percent in popularity polls before they can enter the debates. Stein’s name often does not appear on the popularity polling questionnaires chosen by the commission to be used in rating candidates’ popularity. In polls naming Stein, Stein has met the 15 percent minimum to qualify for debating.
When President Carter was running for a second term, Carter refused to debate independent candidate John Anderson so Ronald Reagan opened the democratic process by debating Anderson separately. This is another option already established.
Let’s open the door for more candidates for our future. Let’s hear Jill Stein in the debates.
