Benjamin and Angela Pulido of Sacramento, California were looking for shave ice Saturday evening.
“We saw the sign and came in,” the honeymooning couple said at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School media class fundraiser. “This is perfect because we leave Kauai soon.”
Kevin Matsunaga, CKMS media class instructor, said the Saturday street fair was the final event for the summer.
The next fundraising event to help the class get to the Student Television Network conference is the golf tournament coming up Sept. 24 at the Wailua Golf Course.
Format is a three-person scramble with registration taking place at 6 a.m. and a shotgun start at 7. A luncheon at the CKMS cafeteria takes place following play with a lot of good food promised.
“I already got some namako,” said Cory Nakamura, a parent helping grill the special corn on the cob.
