A couple of hole-in-ones took place this month at the Wailua Golf Course.
Stanley Tokunaga, of Lihue, made one on the course’s 14th hole on Sunday, Sept. 4. Tokunaga used a TaylorMade 5-iron to hit the ball 177 yards into the cup. Witnesses were Larry Fudge, Dennis Huribert and Mark Coffee. It was Tokunaga’s first hole-in-one in 7 years of golfing.
George Yamamoto also accomplished the feat on Tuesday, Sept. 6 on Wailua’s 3rd hole. Yamamoto wielded a Hiski driver to smack the ball 226 yards into the cup. Witnesses were Koko Chang, Dan Nishimoto, Allan Yamashiro and P.J. Medeiros. It was Yamamoto’s fifth time shooting a hole-in-one.
